About Me

My name is Roya Shojaei. I am a member of the Iranian Photographers Association and FIAP (Fédération Internationale de l’Art Photographique), and the founder and director of RoyaSho Studio, established in 2019.
For me, photography is a language of emotion—a language through which, with the help of light and silence, I reveal what is hidden within the heart of a moment. From the very first days I held a camera, I was drawn to its power to capture human presence and the spirit of nature. Over the years, photography evolved from a simple interest into a way of understanding both the world and myself—a path to discovering calm within chaos, beauty in simplicity, and truth in human gaze.
Light plays a central role in my work. It is more than a technical element; it is the essence of feeling. Light gives meaning to the depth of a look, the softness of a face, or the stillness of a landscape. Whether in portrait and commercial photography, nature, or human narratives, I am always searching for that moment when light, emotion, and reality come together to create a new truth.
Travel, observation, and connection with people have been—and continue to be—an essential part of my artistic journey. In every place I visit, I strive to capture a poetic and inward blend of life, culture, architecture, and nature, allowing the viewer not only to see the image, but to feel the presence of that space.
For me, photography is a combination of technique, experience, and personal living—a continual effort to transform a fleeting moment into an image that endures, speaks, and revives emotion in the viewer’s memory.
